One of the frequent concerns we receive from people looking to purchase a steel structure is the "finish" of the exterior. Most of us have an image that comes up when we imagine a steel structure, and it is likely to look dull and gray. It's not! Metal structures can be found in a myriad of styles, colors, and finishes for decorative purposes like brick veneer, stucco, and faux rock or stone. If you're unsure about building a steel structure because you're worried that it won't look visually appealing, check out the following list and determine which option is most effective for you. We're confident that a metal structure does not need to be boring, and it can be attractive and appealing.
Stucco is among the most well-known facade choices that are available. It can enhance your aesthetics and be a part of the design. It can also blend into the surrounding in case that's a concern aspect. Stucco is also an option to help make your metal structure more attractive and also affordable. There are three ways of using stucco on your metal building's facade: traditional stucco, stucco panels, and stucco flex.
Traditional stucco is similar to that which is found on houses for sale. For this appearance, it is integrated into the metal building plans but often requires a spandrel beam in order to take on the load of the wall exterior. If a spandrel is needed, it is likely to cost more to build, but for some, the exterior finish could be an important aspect in deciding on the type of building.
Stucco panels can be put directly on the structure, much similar to traditional siding. They will give an attractive stucco finish with insulation benefits and come in a variety of shades.
Stucco flex is the cheapest option for stucco to be applied to steel construction. It's a spray-on product which is applied to the corrugated siding of the metal as well as foam board. The stucco flex will give an appearance of flat stucco.
Brick veneer can be bonded to the frame using a swivel tie that can be adjusted to move loads laterally. In this day and age of farmhouse-style décor, a brick veneer can add the classic brick look to your metal structure without the expense and weight. Brick veneer is water resistant and fire resistant. It helps in cooling and heating your structure.
Another option found on metal structures and houses is faux stone or rock. It's a simple option to install for any surface. The faux stone veneer is a more cost-effective alternative to real rock or stone and can add the same elegance to your home. It is available in varieties of styles, colors, and shapes. The faux rock and stone veneers can be used to enhance your building's exterior finishes or be used as a stand-alone to add a unique look to your metal building.
